Hashmonaim has a small commercial strip, and for the big shop most people drive a few minutes to Shilat or Modiin. A secondary source puts it simply: most residents do their large shopping in nearby Modiin and Shilat.

In the yishuv

The commercial strip at 2 HaYitzhar St has Super Chashmona'im, the supermarket, and Shoshana's, a dairy pizzeria with a regular (ragil) certificate from the Mateh Binyamin religious council, valid to 20 April 2027. A family park and food-truck area are planned next to the new memorial promenade near the second roundabout.

Shilat junction: the weekly shop

The commercial area at Shilat Junction on Route 443 (buildings called Beit Yarden, Merkaz Yarden and Beit Mega Or) has:

Grill 443, Shuka-Ochel, Biga and Tanto state supervision by the Hevel Modiin religious council. The Be pharmacy here opens on Motzei Shabbat.

Modiin

Azrieli Modiin Mall opened in 2008 and has two floors and hundreds of stores; it's open Sun-Thu 09:30-22:00, Fri 09:00-15:00 and Motzei Shabbat from half an hour after Shabbat to 23:00. Rami Levy also has a branch in Modiin's Yishpro Center. Osher Ad's official branch list has none in Modiin, Kiryat Sefer or Shilat; the nearest are in Lod and Jerusalem.

Kfar HaOranim

Shauli Market at 1 HaYa'ar St is the supermarket in Kfar HaOranim's commercial centre.

How kashrut works here

Businesses in Mateh Binyamin apply to the religious council for a kashrut certificate, followed by a visit from the regional supervisor; the department is headed by Rabbi Liad Orian (02-5913900). On the Ministry of Religious Services portal, only four businesses in the Hashmonaim/Kfar HaOranim area are certified by Mateh Binyamin, all "regular": Makolet Kafah (Ganei Modiin), Shoshana's (Hashmonaim), and Temporaneo and HaMitbach shel Te'a (Kfar HaOranim). Places in Shilat are under Hevel Modiin's religious council instead. Each listing here shows the kashrut exactly as the business states it, and the council's own Pesach list says to rely on the certificate displayed in the shop, not on a list. I've left out cafes and restaurants that the sources say are not kosher-certified.

I couldn't find the supermarket's hechsher, or the names of the bakery and take-away a secondary source mentions inside Hashmonaim. If you know, tell me.
